I read my mom and dad’s hometown newspaper from time to time just to catch up on what’s going in their neck of the woods. Today they had an interesting article on school superintendents’ salaries. The key paragraph leapt off the computer screen at me:
Despite the recent years of increased earnings, many superintendents nationally have volunteered in the past two years to forgo pay increases or trim their wages in the face of a deep recession that crippled school budgets, said Dan Domenech, executive director of the American Association of School Administrators.
“The economy being what it is, superintendent salaries are fairly stagnant right now,” Domenech said. “Most are not taking increases, and, in many cases, they are taking voluntary cuts in pay. Or they are moving to pick up portions of their insurance coverage. It’s just a sign of the times.”
Maybe somebody should notify the Keller School Board…..
Edit: Couldn’t help it, I emailed the article to the members of the school board, awaiting their response…….
