I have to say after studying the economy, I think Schiff is correct in his assessment. The “growth” that we have seen is artificial and temporary and is funded completely with debt. Regardless, of what one thinks of proposed health care reform, the cost of what is being proposed will excacerbate the problem many times over. At some point over the next year, unless something should change, this is a recipe for economic disaster. On the other hand, while I am suspicious, I am not quite ready to say the Fed Reserve is intentionally complicit for political reasons — at least not quite ready YET. I do think some of their actions are not necessarily positive for rectifying the mess we are in.
