Austin played for Denton Ryan and I got to see him play more than a few summer league games along with the two games Keller played Ryan his senior year. This kid could fly in the outfield and hit the ball hard to all fields. He was a true five tool player and was one of the highest ranked high school players in the nation.
Looks like Austin is just a few months away from being promoted to the Yankees as he has continued down his road of success in the minor leagues. When he does make it there, that will make two big league players my son played against, the other being Highland Park graduate and LA Dodger Clayton Kershaw.
