Keller Animal Shelter
We have an animal shelter in Keller that many people are not aware of. Now this animal shelter comes under the jurisdiction of the Police Dept. A VERY small (2%) of the police dept. budget goes to the shelter. When we built the new dept., a new shelter was added, a very small one, there are no dog runs and very little places to walk them. There are 2 full time staff members and a few volunteers. Most of the time, volunteers pay for the animals medicine and for spaying and neutering. We are trying to get support from Keller citizens to rally more volunteers and to figure out options for the shelter. We need more money and better space.
